Can we stop the speed run to Skynet already?
At least Skynet would blow up these dorks.
Funny how xAi isn’t rushing in to flaunt their 1337 hacker skillz.
I guess they’re already satisfied with the amount of illegal activity Grok is producing…
These are dangerous marketing stunts that normalize using AI for black hat behavior. We shouldn’t be normalizing this to sell the technology. It’s like a gun company boasting about how many times their gun was used in a bank robbery or something.
The goal is to convince the octogenarians in Congress to outlaw open weight models (the Chinese models / the competition).
They really should instead look at this and say: „Alright, big tech can‘t be trusted so we‘re breaking up tech corporations invested in AI and any company with a value of a trillion dollars or more.“
They‘re not going to, because they‘re too invested themselves but lawmakers really should draw the right conclusions here.
It’s both marketing and psyop. Prepping the populace for what will soon be commonplace.
marketing and psyop
These have always been the same thing
These people are so stupid. All abusing their new expensive toys hoping to get the other guys toy banned. Remember, there didn’t have to be a bubble, these suits could have let ai ride and develop reasonably for everyone. Instead they gave it steroids and a bottomless loan.
My LLM also talked to God!
-These dipshits in a month, probably
Actually my LLM became god by founding a religion! Join the cult now!!! Also give me your money!!! We love money!!!
Easy:
1.
Set up a mastodon instance.
2.
Call it a ‘social network.’
3.
Open user registration
4.
After a while, ask for money from every user.1 mill per month should be OK if you are god, since it’s 100.000 currently if you are prez.
Charge Zuckerburg with Cybercrimes?
Aside from those news being mere P.R. stunts: if a company cannot even design a sound sandbox and testbed, how can we assume their other services are secure?
To me it looks like we have to shut those unsafe companies down all together 😂
Weird flex.
Toddler level flex. “Me too guys, I’m cool too!”
It actually makes perfect sense to do this if your goal is corporate capture of the market.
From another article :
On one side are leading A.I. companies like Anthropic and OpenAI, which claim that some A.I. models are too dangerous to be developed in the open and must be tightly controlled — by businesses like themselves — for safety.
The bastard child of all marketing stunts…
The whole US economy rests on the promise that their fancy autocorrect will become a god. Of course they will grab onto anything that they think will keep them afloat
So many shitty managers, C-suite execs, and AI accelerationists are convinced that they can replicate an entire workflow with a single vague prompt that will print infinite money. They can’t comprehend the idea that you still have to understand what you’re asking for, how to ask for it, how to spot what’s wrong with the output, and what needs to be done to correct it.
AI will never be able to do that. Not because it’ll never be technically capable, but because it was never, or will ever, be designed to.
I bet thats coming next, why even have to wait to submit that pesky prompt??
I’m pretty sure it’s a marketing stunt to try and get more government contracts
And more government regulation. These companies constantly cry for universal “guardrails” on AI - a thing that is too nebulous to define, but only these companies have the cash and lawyers to claim they do.
Companies based outside the law’s jurisdiction can also claim that, or whatever they want.
He looks like Beaker from the muppets, but an infinitely worse version.
Hey, HEY!
My AI just hacked another company.
Aww yeah. Fat VC cheque time. I’m going to buy so many Doritos.😏
That’s just like Zuck to copy yet another idea.
Huggingface (or some other benchmarking company) needs to put its servers in a country with real cyberintrusion laws with teeth. Somewhere where an announcement like this would result in prison sentences and the company’s license to operate being revoked in the country until they could demonstrate via third party audits that their operations are acting in a secure and legal manner.
My AI, that I also trained on pirated porn, you’ll never guess what. It hacked a company too.
Money please!
