Ivory Coast on Friday celebrated the return of a sacred drum looted by French troops in 1916. The homecoming parade through the streets of Abidjan took place on the country’s independence day holiday. The drum then continued on to the village of Adjame, where it was made.

Damn. Those poor people haven’t been allowed to talk in 110 years because no one could be holding the talking drum.
I wonder if when the French looted it some random local yelled “Give that back!” and was then shunned by the rest for having talked while not holding the talking drum.
