In an age of business consolidation and vertical integration, I think you’re going to have a split. Big businesses on the oligarch level, these hacks become cost of doing business/future conflict analogous to nation-states, while the smaller businesses are effectively cannibalized, or forced to sell to their local big business conglomerate asap before their shit is outright stolen.
Washington State (IIRC) is working on a law that exempts flock from FOIA requests. So that’s not far behind.

Now that AI can be used to track and geofence workers, you don’t actually need to get rid of the USD. You just need to have an AI flag every transaction that happens 50 miles outside your registered address to be considered fraudulent and rejected. The anti-fraud infrastructure is already there.
