I didn’t quit. They stopped my F1 tv pro subscription and then they tried to extort me into buying a viaplay bundle. Now I watch for free.
Despite this being a pretty exciting reason with the title race, I just haven’t bothered after I wasnt able to renew with f1tv. They offered the product I wanted at the right price. I’m not interested in paying twice as much for a bunch of other stuff I’m not planning to watch.
I mean, I understand the sentiment, but:
-
F1TV Pro is $85 per year
-
AppleTV is $99 per year, which is more, but…
-
AppleTV gives you F1TV Premium, which is $130 per year on its own, and finally,
-
you can still use the F1TV app.
I literally haven’t changed anything about how I watch from last year. It’s certainly not twice as expensive.
This is my experience. We already have Apple TV so it saved me money. I still use the F1 app to steam to my TV and keep a tablet open on my lap watching specific drivers like always.
This was the same for us — we already had Apple TV and I had the MLS pass, so I’m saving the $85 a year not buying an F1TV standalone subscription. And saving the MLS pricing as well because that’s been rolled into Apple TV now for no additional cost.
I thought I saw the process a $18 per month, but if it’s just $99 per year, I might get it. It would let me watch MLS games as well for the upcoming season.
The native F1TV experience has dramatically worsened recently though. I watch on a media PC through my browser and can not get the playback to work without disabling MultiView entirely.
I paid $85, I refuse to pay more than $85. I don’t want F1TV Premium or anything on AppleTV.
Certainly your choice, but not a hill I’d be willing to die on over $15 per year.

I’ve stopped watching and paying when they removed third parties app. Using their official one with DRM I kept having stream issue, they downgraded my experience.
I couldn’t re-new my subscription, because of licence issues in Austria
F1 TV isn’t working here anymore since last season already
Which is a pity, because F1Multiviewer was awesome
On YouTube TV the interface for fast forwarding is so fucked I had to cancel it. And the announcing crew is total shit.
Rip, Apple raised Apple TV costs in the US. $14.99/mo, $119/yr.

I stopped watching when they moved to AppleTv. It helps that it coincided with the worst regulation set we’ve seen in years
I was pissed about it initially as the yearly F1TV Pro sub was cheaper than yearly Apple TV.
A family member has an Apple TV sub and they don’t watch F1. I was able to link my account and now I have F1TV Premium for free.
