It’s golf, for me. I simply cannot imagine caring. But golf is somehow immensely popular with a certain type of career-oriented person. Anyway, solidarity with every javelina that has ever destroyed a golf course, and I hope they do it again. Fuckin hate golf.

Speaking as someone who loves disc golf for similar reasons I think it’s two things
It’s a place where you can constantly improve at, and see that you’re improving at it, while also being impossible to master. So career driven people who get something from improving there craft and getting a promotion will probably get a similar feeling from improving there golf score.
It’s mostly just walking and talking, so you can do your networking and dealing in a place much more pleasant then a board room.
A lot of business people like to play golf with other business people to see if they cheat and how they handle issues that come up. It’s a great way to see the real person behind their golf game, it’s hard to hide crazy if you’re super competitive.
