Just yesterday AI told my brother that a run of 4 in crib is actually 2 runs of 3. I made him pull out the book and look up the rules because I knew that was wrong.
Why even use it if you have to double check everything it says?
In some way, this doesn’t change much to “search engines”. Before AI you had to search online and verify the result. Now you ask an AI and have to check because it will hallucinate when it doesn’t have all the data.

Search engines aren’t boiling the earth on a per-query basis
True but unrelated to my point.
I have some bad news for you about how other people are using AI.
“AI” is not one thing, just like trusting one website is not trusting another website
Why use the internet when sometimes the thing posted is wrong?
Because you can judge the source of the information yourself, whereas with AI, who tf knows?
What I do know is that it’s wrong enough that I should double check everything it says.
That’s a very good rule for everything you read
