But that’s also besides the point: if the US were to win a shooting war over Greenland, it’s all the more important for them to be the ones to start it.

Police involvement would be necessary because this is, at it’s core, a law enforcement operation, and the military, if for no other reason, for logistics. The foreign nature of the operation doesn’t fundamentally change things, and ther hostility is… let’s say contingent on other factors.

It very much is. The topic here is private citizens doing crime abroad. If the Jakuza started an illegal mining operation in Sweden, it would be handled by the Swedish police. If they so require, the Swedish police would request assistance from the Swedish military. Either way, it would be an internal matter of a sovereign nation, to be handled by that sovereign nation.

Start with the local police, and escalate as needed, same as you would if LEGO decided to start a paramilitary camp. Point is, unless US troops get involved, this is a local matter, and it benefits Denmark for it to stay that way.

A very American take. But there’s really no need to be the ones escalating to war here. If the yanks are doing illegal stuff, just arrest them and sent them to jail.
