…why not just try either installing another distro like Debian to test it or reinstall Fedora.
I’ll be trying that last since while I did get most of my data off it thankfully (this was a real kick in the ass to get better about keeping backups!) I wasn’t able to get all of it and I would inevitably lose some of my settings. That said it will be my last resort.


I just did as you suggested and it worked! Once I managed to get it to mount creating a simple text file went flawlessly - the rumors of my ssd’s demise may have been greatly exaggerated. Now to figure out how exactly to fix this borked boot partition / messed up bios settings (I’m pretty sure that’s what it is at this point). I’m fairly confidant I can do that now that I have a better idea what is actually wrong though. Thanks so much for pointing me in the right direction, this has potentially saved me a bunch of money.
