  • Theres a few differences between GTA and movies, but to focus on a big one, in GTA you have agency over your character. In a movie, its always a 3rd person perspective of somebody else breaking laws. In games, you are the one calling the shots.

    I believe most people are rational enough to separate the fictional game world from reality, but by bringing reality closer to the game, I think it’s a valid concern that it will influence those who struggle with that to behave more like their avatar in the game.

    I don’t think it’s a bad idea, it would be rather cool. but there is a bit of risk associated with it.

    Edit: re-read the article and thought about it some more and I changed my mind. The risk I expressed is pretty negligible, and for the tourist impact it would probably be well worth it.

    They beat the game. Theres not enough space on the board to make the next bigger tile afterwards.

    They have taken between 32k and 64k moves to get to this point. At 1 move per second, thats 9-18 hours.
