  • Yes, and then you charge it.

A battery running flat once isn’t such a huge deal. Running flat repeatedly or running so low it can no longer be charged back up is, but it’s still fairly uncommon to happen unless the battery is already dying.

I ran my battery flat like 10 times in a week testing my OBD2 app since I was mostly testing it at night and didn’t want to start the engine and it’s a 2007 Audi so the ignition-on power consumption is ridiculous (must be dozens of amps). Still no issues. My other car has manually switched lights which I forgot to turn off the other day and came back to an extremely dim sidemarker being the only thing still lit up in the morning, this one is a 2001 so it’s not smart enough to turn off consumers, it ran flat and kept on powering that light. Started it with my booster and after a few kilometers driven, it started without the booster again. This one isn’t even a particularly new battery, at least the other one is a 3-4 year old Exide.

  • Well when it comes to engine displacement, you’re just talking about cylinder crosscut area times piston movement (so not even the entirety of the cylinder volume, just how much air the pistons displace). That 4.0 inline 6 is a big ol’ lump, but are the cylinders really that big if you think about it? Much of it is the crankcase, head, the block around the cylinders themselves, etc.

4 liters is just a bit more than a gallon

  • Creators already get paid very well for posting on YouTube.

Not since Pewds made some nazi jokes 9 years ago. Think they’re only now getting back to where they were before that.

There are also a ton more people doing a lot of niches, so now you get fewer views.

A good rule of thumb for me is, if I see adverts on YouTube and on TV for the same company or product, then they are charging too much…

That I can agree on, but then again, how would they even sell their product if there’s no advertisement? The companies that don’t charge too much and then stuff some of it into advertisement, tend to go under.

But if a creator has ads on premium that costs x amount each month.

Creator doesn’t really know if you have premium or not and many users (me) will also have adblock so they don’t get a cent from these views. That’s why many will show you ad-free videos on Patreon or Nebula. No sponsor segments if they know you’re a paying customer.

  • In fact, we also have countries with less surveillance and less mass violence. And that’s most countries these days. There’s been only one single school shooting ever in my country and I actually knew people at that school at the time (my ex had graduated from there, but her cousin was still attending). 8th or 9th grade boy with a strict military father was being bullied by a teacher so he shot the teacher. That teacher would give him bad grades knowing his father would punish him for it (someone said he’d have to run 20 km home from school if he got a bad grade, but I’m not sure if that’s true), mocked him apparently, etc. Not trying to justify the kid’s actions, just illustrating what it took to get someone in a country other than the US to even go that far. He didn’t announce his plans to his friends beforehand AFAIK, so surveillance wouldn’t even have caught it.

  • Before WWII, there were under 100k of them in Palestine, they were a small minority. That number is now millions in the same territory. Why do you think they shouldn’t have their own government and their own country?

Also Jewish doesn’t only mean someone of a particular religion, it’s also an ethnicity. Do you think nazis cared if you were practicing? Just having the big nose would’ve been enough.

I’m not saying Palestine shouldn’t exist, but I do think that the people who consider themselves Jews should have their own country too. Why shouldn’t it be in the land they were kicked out of originally? There’s plenty of space there.

The thing I do have a problem with is what’s going on in west bank and Gaza (and Lebanon). They have their Lebensraum, they don’t need more of it.
