I’m afraid that the freedom of “mainstream” Linux will slowly fade away. SteamOS whilst praised by many is basically a proprietary binary blop OS. Without Steam no one would give a shit about SteamOS. What makes Linux great isn’t the same as what makes SteamOS “great”.

Probably because Chinese people live in a country were criticism of the government and Xi present a high risk of jail or loss of freedom. Glhf proclaiming criticism toward the party and Xi without consequences.

I can agree with most of this but china aren’t know for being particularly interested in human rights and freedom of speech/press. And don’t whatabout me on the state of affairs in USA. USA and china both suck at human rights but I (I might be ignorant) think that the US in its totality still is better
