Bandcamp rules. Not only can you buy music but many artists also sell merch, sheet music, art and more. It’s a great, one-stop-shop to support your favourite artists.

And if you keep a look out, Bandcamp regularly email about “Bandcamp Friday” which are defined Fridays where they waive their share of the sale meaning the artist gets the whole cut!

It’s some variation on UwU OwO 3w3 which, as far as I’m aware, imparts simply “cute” from Asian cartoons/animation.

I’m equally baffled by it but I was there in the beforefore times when smileys were visualising human faces.

I’ve been desperate to get into VR (both as a player and a developer) but being tethered wasn’t for me - it was the biggest gripe I had visiting VR experiences etc. And I dislike Meta on a philosophical and moral level.

So yeah, $1500 for “not Meta” is fine by me.

It seems to have been a plan for a long time, given their huge shift to unified memory architectures across most of their hardware.

They’re pretty much the only vendor where you can cost-effectively deploy a foundational LLM locally.

It’s what happens when someone with underdeveloped empathy gets caught doing something they know is wrong, resulting in emotional overload.

It’s textbook toddler tantrum.

With stunted empathy, people seeking an explanation and apology are met with increasingly greater resistance.

And like textbook, they claim to be the victim. I wouldn’t be surprised if they are lying about receiving death threats.

What’s crazy is they could have simply:

• Apologised
• Explained the intent to reduce toxicity
• Agreed there was a lack of transparency
• Refactored their existing “enable toxicity mode” feature into a clearer, toggleable blocklist feature

But no. They were caught while they were secretly trying to play internet dictator and refused to empathise with others that were hurt and shocked to find out a tool they were using was receiving undisclosed payloads to use to censor communities and individuals.

I strongly implore everyone to leave this developer alone. Jokingly asking to be added to the list etc empowers them to continue to play the victim. They do not deserve attention.

I’m very much in that camp myself. I ducked out from consoles, having owned pretty much all of them since the Atari 2600, after the PS4. So many more amazing games on PC e.g. Song of Syx which would never work on a traditional console but is amazing on PC and even Steam Deck / Steam Controller.

Now we know why they stopped shipping games to PC. They need to prep their user base for a hardware price that will have users consider just buying a PC instead, taking away the “I can play the PlayStation exclusives on PC anyway” argument.
