19 hours agoI have a mini PC that has been barreling through NVMe disks but Alpine Linux’ “usb” install mode just wasn’t great either. So I use a “sys” install mode (traditional) on an NVMe disk but have directories like /var/log, /tmp, etc. mounted as zram disks with Zstandard compression. It’s been pretty fantastic honestly.

Be careful if there’s a public IP address. I think some operating systems even include IPv6 with
0.0.0.0so that if there’s a public one assigned this might open it up to the world.
